B"H I am not worried.
I just have to be open and honest, and from the looks of the schedule I will only miss one clinical so it's not a problem.

I think I am the first lubavitcher in the program. The modern women wear pants, and half cover their hair. I think I am the first with a sheitel.
I remember in dosage calculations this one woman, one day wore her sheitel and it looked years old. The professor told her that her hair looked horrible, and that if she showed up to clinicals that they would send her home. So after that she wore a scarf or a hat.

Well I got my uniform today, and my lab coat. Funny enough I only fit in a size xsmall for the labcoat and the jacket...blah
Everything else is petite or small.
I was informed that I am welcome to wear a skirt to the clinic, but once in clinic I have to dress like everyone else. So I will be wearing my skirt and then removing it. Evidently, they just recently added that students can wear shirts under their scrub tops (white only).
Trying to get used to wearing my wedding ring on a necklace, as no flashy or pokie jewelry is allowed. It's weird, but I figure get used to it now for a bit u know?

B"H I have three beautiful children, that I love very much.
My oldest has a tendency to take advantage when I am not there to enforce her doing work. I.e. one night I had a 16 page report due for one of my courses, and I was finally focused and wanted to finish it. I gave my husband clear instructions, i.e. chumash homework and study english vocab words for spelling test the next day. he did the chumash and forgot to do the vocab, of course she flunked vocab because my daughter needs constant reinforcement of memory words.
My second child, sadly has chrons disease, and recently I discovered that there are two boys at his school that have picked him out to pick on and punch in the stomach of all places!! While it may not be a hard punch for my son, any punch in the stomach is stressful! I mentioned it to the principle but they are afraid that if they tell everyone that they have to be gentle with my son, that it could further ostracize him as we are still new to the school! This week I had my orientation, and he was so upset that I was not there to do his lunch that he got sick to his stomach. Of course later I discovered that it was too much the beating up and the changes that I was not there in the morning to do his lunch. So i know it was not only me, but the school issues.
My youngest, now has been acting out at school and the teachers are surprised.
Why do they do this?? anyway thanks for listening to my vent..
And responses like do not go to school are not helpful, I need a real job.

so it was an interesting orientation, but it went from 8 am - 2 pm this past friday!!!
I made it back like an hour before licht!!! Only to find that my fish patties, for our fish dish half had been eaten by hungry children!!!
B"H learned a lot, but it's incredible the amount of things that are required!!
Back ground check many blood tests CPR, First Aid..
etc etc..
I have a timeline of when things have to be done. Plus they said to read the nursing fundamentals book before class, because they dive right in!
Plus I asked about shoes, because I finally found a pair of white shoes, but they are kind of tennis shoes. They said no tennis shoes, but I am going to bring them on wednesday so they can see them.

B"H finally got my letter of "conditional" acceptance.
First they run a criminal check, then a drug test.. Then give them proof of immunities, and proof of being healthy and finally a proof of CPR certification..
B"H Spring 2010 (I.e. February) I start nursing school!

um thanks Achot, but honestly I am not moving to Israel unless Moshiach comes. My ex would not allow me to remove the kids, so I am stuck in the states for atleast 11 more years.. That's when my youngest turns 18.
I always think positively, just sometimes it feels good to to state worries. It's part of being human.
Rivka, I do not live in NY.
