So I have a real professor for clinical, and she's really switched on so I really feel like I will learn alot! My lecture professor is all book based!! eeeeeek! So TONS of reading. I got really sick my spring break I tried everything to get better, including going off of coffee.. This morning I had to wake up at 6 am, and honestly needed coffee. I have still felt like dragging up until this morning, when I drank coffee. Some how things clicked and now I feel back to normal! or is it maybe because I missed being in clinicals?!

like I said this was purely a vent.
My husband does not like to set limits on his kids, she has a set of keys to both cars. She is supposed to ask before taking off, but was all excited because her bf is in town from Israel. b"H she brought back the car with my clinical stuff and took the other one. She then had to contend with her brother telling her that she better be back before 10 the next day because he has swimming lessons.
Blending families is not easy, but it's life when you find someone you love.

my step-daughter is a spoiled little brat whom always gets her way, and when I try to fight it I feel like I am being a brat. But if I do not scream, then she gets her way and then I am pardon my language Sr*ewed out of a car!
Tonight she had the NERVE to take off with the car that has all my clinical things for tomorrow!
When my husband called and told her to come back she's like "oh can't she take the other car, please I am already out." So he gives the phone to me and says you talk to her!
All she did was complain that she's already out, and that it's never been a problem before with her taking the car. I said the problem is that this particular car has my clinical things in it and you cannot just take off! That she knew this break would be different because I am in school now and she cannot just take off w/the car. Of course now she HATES me, and I am stressed and have a clinical final tomorrow and my last regular exam for lecture Friday morning.
Then I have to study for the Lecture final which thanks to pesach I have to also take late, so my grades do not get posted and they cannot "guarantee" me moving forward.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
*sigh*
thanks for letting me vent.

So CNN came to interview our professor and tapped our class. It was a bit awkward, esp because the professor almost did a topic over again so that we would have a sort of discussion over a lecture.
Such is life, still did not really get to the lecture...

yup!
Our nursing program uses Orem's framework
This is the worksheet we are given to cluster data to figure out what is the most important thing to focus on first.
In your patient's case it would be O2 saturation, because he has to have good oxygen in the body.

thank you rivka, I missed that!
Anyone else? I cannot diagnose a UTI, we are not allowed to use medical definitions. it would have to be fluid volume deficit

Try to get her to eat more smaller meals.. instead of 3 meals a day maybe 5-6 small meals?
something our professor suggested for the elderly, because they tend to eat less. And feel full faster. See if you can find another protein shake that she does like, sometimes there are better tasting ones that come in powders.

I know how to do a nursing care plan and nursing diagnosis.. They want us to take an assessment i.e. 80 year old man................ Then I have to categorize it by Air Water etc etc. I just need a fake scenario so that I can practice the categorizing, as we have an exam on it next week....thanks
