I am so afraid that when I am done with my degree that there will be no jobs.
Everyone tells me that I will make a great nurse and not to worry, but still. When I speak to the nurse manager, she always says that they get over 200 for 150 positions. I so want to get a job on a good unit, but guess time will tell..

this week hope to meet with a counselor, evidently the one I was meeting with was not really helping me with finding courses that are appropriate

thank you..
I actually went to an orientation, and I was one of the few with EVERYTHING completed.. But she still said that for 30 spots they get 150-200 applicants, and then it's just a random picking of people. ahhhhh
This week I was able to get a interview at UCLA, so that they can evaluate my credits..etc
Yeah Achot is correct, because my GPA is 3.3 now, problem is that when I first went to college I was married to my abusive ex husband and it dropped my GPA below a 2.0. Even though it was a couple of years ago, they still count those grades as part of my total GPA, and that typically kills my application at regular Bachelor programs.

I wish I could... Bachelors I am competing with all the new high school graduates.
It's next to impossible, I guess I could try to apply but who knows..

Most private institutions do not transfer to masters degrees? what do you mean by "private institutions? You have to ask questions very carefully. I interviewed at a school in NY. I asked specifically are you Nationally certified, they danced around it by saying we are certified. So then I asked, what happens when I want to get my bachelors degree, to which I got we have an agreement with xyz college for students to transfer. what if I want to go on for my masters degree, for me it's either midwife or nurse practitioner. The response I got was, "most programs do not accept our degree for masters and military do not accept our degree either." I do not want to state which school, but if you do not ask the right questions u might be stuck with a degree that can only go so far. I have learned that if u do not ask the right question then to bad they are sorry. I want a degree where if possible I have the option of UCLA for my masters or any of those big colleges.

I am sure that it is possible there are scholarships.
Problem is, that most private institutions do not transfer to masters degrees. I want to get my bachelors degree eventually and my masters eventually.. i would rather leave it open to a less costly place.

So what happens when you finish your degree?
I am in LA, but sometimes we spend 2-3 mos out east in the summer, so if I want to get a license to work in NY during that time. What does one have to do?
Or if I travel over seas, because sometimes we have to spend time in australia to help with family.
anyone have suggestions on how I can research this?

thanks to budget cuts they are only accepting 40 students this semester at my college, instead of 50. So while they assured me I would start in the spring, I got an email stating what I wrote above and that they could no longer ensure when anyone would be starting nursing school. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I am so sick of waiting, but I cannot afford private and most private colleges are not nationally certified. I do want to be a midwife, so I have to wait

IY"H, budget pending, I start nursing school in the spring.
Question is, scrubs or scrubs with scrub skirt?
what do you do if the school only wants u to wear their uniform, no I do not live in NY so there are no frum schools.
