As you may have gathered from my previous posts, becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner is a goal of mine. I have also taken two courses at Temple University toward that goal, but I am not so sure I want to stay there. I also learned from that experience that it would probably be best for me to take ONE course at a time.
That being the case, I am interested in ONLINE MSN-FNP programs that will allow me to take courses one at a time. Leads anyone?
Thanks!

Try googling, I did and found University of No Carolina- Wilmington (has a respected name, its not University of Chile) at this link: www.uncwil.edu/son/academic-msn-fnp.htm But there are others...Good Luck!

Can you get the training you need to be an FNP from a online program alone? Is there any clinical component?

chaya- of course there is a clinical component, but some online programs let you set that up where you are located with a preceptor.

There's probably a lot of discussion of this in the appropriate place on allnurses.com; but I expect you looked there.
When I briefly looked at ACNP programs I found there are a few names that kept coming up. I imagine you'll find the same for FNP. Personally, I'm inclined to go with nursing schools that are well established and respected, at real brick and mortar universities. Those who are doing online programs are more likely to back it up with whatever needed.

medic, I looked right after I posted here. ;-) oops, wrong order. Found a bunch of places and contacted them to find out if I can take one course at a time.
