Will daven for you...SheNishma BeSorot Tovot...and whatever will happen it will be for the best, I will be so proud to include you in our ranks...and if for whatever reason it doesn't work out PLEASE come here to Jerusalem and I will get you into a good nursing school here- dont worry about the hebrew- you can get by with your English and learn as you go- I can always find for you a job here- we are plotzing for more good jewish nurses and the best part is most of your patients are Jewish- you feel so connected- I cant explain. We are taking care of a 97 yr old Holocaust survivor now, amazing woman who was born in Poland, made Aliya in 1936 and got her degree in Hebrew University, in 1939 when hearing of the atrocities going on she traveled BACK to Poland to help. Can you imagine, she got caught up in Hitlers (Yemach Shemo) web, ran away and hid till her boyfriend arranged marriage papers between them and procured for her safe passage back to Israel. SHe had an amazing career and raised a wonderful family, was independent till a short while ago and came to us in terrible shape- 10 decubiti ulcers (some stage 4) Albumin level 2.2 (very low) Hgb 8, undernourished and missing her left eye. We have helped heal her, and she is now stronger, enjoying a quality of life she never imagined possible at her age, she is alert and oriented and wants to "give back" to the staff, so while they care for her, she rubs their backs...she is amazing... We feel so good pampering her at this stage in her life...BTW we are not a private, fancy facility just a nonprofit, well-run, professional one So Malkie- whatever happens you have options!!
