My nearly 10 month old (iknayneh horah) used to sleep so well through the night. Now she wakes up and won't go back to sleep unless we bring her into our bed. She's getting bigger and sometimes kicks and I therefore don't really sleep well with her in our bed. We tried crying it out for a few minutes tonight and she worked herself up so much she threw up! Currently, she is in our bed, sleeping with my husband. We try comforting her and walking out of the room, but when we do, she begins to wail. Any suggestions?

I saw you posted this in FB and must be desperate, the details here are richer. What time does she go to sleep and what time does she wake up? Could she be hungry? Could you try a little rice cereal before she goes to bed? Be careful when bringing her into your bed that she shouldn't fall off, We used to push one bed against the wall and have the baby sleep there cornered in by whichever parent was next to her, One of my kids was a kicker so I can empathize, it is a terrible way to wake up in middle of the night. Good Luck, Kleiner Kinder (Little kids) Kleiner Tzoras (little problems)... Gmar Chatima Tova!!

She goes to sleep around 7 pm and sometimes wakes up only 30 minutes to an hour later, sometimes at around midnight and often at 3 am. I guess it's possible she is hungry and I can encourage my husband to give her rice cereal before bed. He is often the one putting her to sleep as I am at work. The truth is, you're right, she has already fallen off the bed. That is another reason for my concern about getting her back into the crib.

sounds reasonable, but be careful not to give too much rice cereal or you will give her a bellyache or constipation. a little can go a long way. ( I made that mistake once) Also in the summer months when it is still light outside at 7 you should close the drapes or whatever you use by the windows, it should be darkish in the room. Would she play with stuffed animals or a rattle or something till she falls asleep? Good Luck, things will improve, I promise!!

We still try and get her to sleep in her crib, but we have changed our attitude about her sleeping in our bed. When it gets too squishy, or she is kicking, I guess I don't have an answer for that. Usually just me getting frustrated and Mati taking her out of the bed to eat breakfast or something. I told her no more nursing if she is going to kick me like that, but have not kept that promise. I didn't really mean it. I love nursing her. :-)

to update, she now sleeps through the night and we are so happy that we took out the one and a half weeks to let her cry it out.
