For starters, I am so sorry for your loss, I didn't hear of the situation but am aware that sometimes women do die from complications of eclampsia. Recent studies show maternal mortality rates as high as 14% in developing countries see related article :

I dont know the specifics of this case and obviously cant comment on them. It is always a tragedy and a great loss, one that we have to try and learn from.
But I am surprised that you immediately blame the Israeli system.
A while back there was this terrible story of a woman from a NY who died while waiting for care at the ER and the staff completely ignored her,....July 2008 at Kings County Hospital....you can Google it for the details, ...well, my coworkers here kept asking me about the health care system in NY and made the same derogatory comments as you did asking how anyone has faith in the system....
I think we are smarter than that. I think we know that there is good and bad in every system, in every place.
Whether its the school system, judicial system or medical system etc. I think its our obligation as citizens to be educated and look for the best system for us as individuals. If you dont like how a teacher is treating a student, do something about it, if you dont like how a doctor is handling your care, same thing.
What good is it to start slinging mud or accusations?
I also think as religious Jews, we understand that there is a bigger picture that we dont always see, and our faith in Hashem has to help us through these hard times.
I am not here to tell you that my experiences Baruch Hashem giving birth here were positive and better than in the states, that I appreciated my frum midwife and the frum warm nurses who understood my needs better than their counterparts in the states, because that is not the point. For every bad story there are far more good stories.
Do I have faith in the system?...I have faith in Hakadosh Baruch Hu who is the Marpeh Cholim. We are all his agents and nothing more. We try our best, sometimes succeeding, sometimes not.
I do think that we need to learn a lesson from the Meraglim and try not to spread Loshon Horo against Eretz Yisroel in general. If you dont want to give birth here because of things you "heard", that is your business, but dont use it to denigrate the beautiful land Hashem has chosen for us. The opposite should be your mission, if you can help improve things here, I would think that that should be your goal.
You imply that your faith in the US medical system is greater than in the Israeli system and I am sorry that you feel that way, if it is based on evidence based practice, please show me the facts. but if it is based on rumors and stories....well, then that is your right, but I respectfully disagree.
I hope this helps.
