Thank you.
I originally interviewed on the Stroke/Neuro floor because I have experience in that area. The interview went superb and I got a call back 3 days later to offer me the job. They just wanted to specify their weekend requirement. During the interview, the manager had asked me if any days did not work out for me, so I told her about Friday and Saturday evenings and mentioned that I could work every Sunday if need be. She said that everyone on her floor works on a pattern, so she already has someone working every Sunday. The unit need is Saturday. OK. So the recruiter told me to take the weekend to think about it. I don't think she knew I was talking about about shabbos. She told me to talk to my family etc. I called a rebbetzin in the area who is a nurse and she told me to ask to interview on another floor. My father insisted I ask a shaila whether I could work on shabbos and as I think I may have posted somewhere else, the Rav said that another opportunity will come along. I prepared what I wanted to explain about shabbos to the nurse recruiter and used it as my script when I spoke to her again after the weekend. She found this other opportunity for me on a general medicine floor where they have plenty of weekend staff.
I am so happy that I found a .5 evenings position that will allow me to keep shabbos in a MAGNET hospital only 6 miles from my house! Thank you Hashem, thank you to the rebbetzin and rav who gave me brachot, thank you to my parents and husband who were supportive and sang "Big Gedaliah Goomber" and thanks to all of you who read my rants while I was going through this process.

Gedalia Goomber? Sorry, but I'm clueless.
Rivkah, lots of hatzlacha for your new job. Not working on shabbos will bring more beracha into your house. This Friday I went to what I thought was a job interview. They gave me several tests. One was on medication administration, one on infection control, and one on HIPPA rules. After reviewing them, I was sent to the girl that does scheduling. I was never even interviewed. But I'm not officially hired until they check out my references. I hope my professors from nursing school will say something nice to them. My present boss did write me a very nice recommendation letter but its not enough. They need at least 3. Anyways, I hope something will come of it.

Chorus: Ain't gonna work on Saturday Ain't gonna work on Saturday Double, double, triple pay Won't make me work on Saturday Ain't gonna work on Saturday It's Shabbos Kodesh
*******repeat chorus after each stanza******* I'm big Gedalia Goomber, I'm not exactly small, But really not so very big, just seventeen feet tall. I'm really rigged for working, for that I'm very fit, Six days a week I'm at it, and on the seventh day I quit.
I once helped raise a building, and on the 100th floor, I was carrying a load of bricks, an easy ton or more. And here it's late on Friday, I knew I'd have to stop, So I yelled, "watch out below!", and let the whole thing drop.
At driving a locomotive, I thought I'd take a crack, I had the throttle wide open, zooming down the track. And here it's almost Shabbos, the sun's about to set, So I dove into a mudhole, and the train is running yet.
I worked down in a coal mine, and lost myself alright, I couldn't tell the days apart, because there was no light. So I set myself to digging, just as fast as you may please, And I popped up in an hour, where the people speak Chinese.
I worked at Cape Kennedy, and things were going right, A great big rocket ship was set, on the launching site. And here it's getting dark, Shabbos was coming soon, So I pushed the starting button, and spent Shabbos on the moon.
I turned to deep-sea diving, and took an awful chance, On a sunken steamer's deck, I got caught by my pants. And trapped beneath the ocean, I couldn't set me free, But I went home for Shabbos, and dragged the boat with me.
i once was on a baseball team, Shomer Shabbos was its name, the score was zero zero, in this exciting game, then i was up to bat, and shabbos was coming soon, So i hit that ball so very hard, it landed on the moon.
I dress my best on Shabbos, three meals I feast me fine, I make a royal Kiddush on a barrel full of wine. And when I sing my Zmiros, for a thousand miles they know, That I'm enjoying Shabbos, for Hashem has told us so.

...and my favorite: I once was an explorer to Africa I went, One day some hungry lions came roaring round my tent!!! My assistant held my rifle: "Go Goomber kill those pests!!" But I invited them instead to be my Shabbas guests!!! Chorus Taught me that the best way to deal with potential problem neighbors is to turn them into your friends,... and more Boy are we off topic- Hows the new job coming along?

One second, I forgot the barrel full of wine for Kiddish- and re reading the lyrics, how educational was this- Goomber was a lush as well as accident prone, shlemeil who loses track of time, is disorganized and hazardous to work with!!!Dont play ball with him- or youll never see your ball again!!!!
