and happy lag ba'omer!!
not so much is happening by me but i hope all of you have a picnic to go to or so. i'm going to go listen to some music soon...
i wanted to ask everyone if you're on allnurses.com at all. i'm there as adira83. i thought achot might be achot chavi on there : ) ?
bh i passed my nclex in february and just got my first nursing job in a ltc facility not too far from me. i was really worried about the whole shabbos situation, and i did have some problems when i interviewed elsewhere, but at this place they were so understanding and nice about this and the skirt issue also, and i will work third shift for my every other weekend duty. : D so i'm really excited, and also nervous, of course.
iyh i'm also going to israel for the week of shavuos and meeting with misrad habriut there. fyi it's not pazit azuri who's in charge of licensing/education there anymore. it's rut ?rutstein. i'm not sure, i must admit that i have some trouble talking to israelis on the phone. but i have an appointment with her right before shavuot so i will let you know how that goes.
hope you're all doing fine and to hear your news.

Mazal Tov on passing the NCLEX and your new job!
I occasionally appear on allnurses as Medic09. Since buying my MacBook, I've had trouble posting anything more than two word responses, so I don't comment much.
Do let us know your impressions and what you learn at Misrad HaBriut. I'll be in Yerushalayim all of July, and am also thinking of an appointment while I'm there.

Shalom Abby, what will I be doing in Israel? Whaddaya mean? A Jew belongs in Israel! Just being there is its own justification.
Okay, so I'll participating in a month long medical ethics seminar at Shaarei Tzedek hospital.

Ok, I am marrying off a son on Tuesday and Sheva Brachot will get us to erev Shavuot but I am free after that, when is your appointment by Misrad Ha Breut? I will be back to work that week and I work right next door to them. As I wrote- my DON (I am the ADON) knows a lot of the people who work there and might be able to help if you need. Just one word, things are not as scary as you might think.... Shavuot is a lovely time to be in Israel... Welcome (back) to all who are coming!!!

Mazal Tov Abby! You worked hard and now you will finally be a part of this wonderful profession of healing people. In Allnurses I am "nurse32" but I only comment occasionally.
achot, Mazal Tov for your son's wedding. I wish your son a happy life with his bashert for many more years to come.
I envy all of you that went to Eretz Yisrael. My husband moved from Israel to America when he was a teen and returned for the first time 15 years later! That was quite a few years ago the only time we went together to Eretz Yisrael. I look forward to the day when I will be able to return.
