May Hashem bless the souls of all our heroic fallen fighters. May He bless their families and communities with genuine comfort and pride in them, and may they witness their rise in t'hiyat hameitim.
By their merit may we all be blessed with an excellent, happy, and grateful Yom Ha-atzmaut!

That was a beautiful sentiment. My eyes are red from crying. I have been hearing the testimonials from surviving families of their loved ones whose lives were cut short either as soldiers or as victims of terrorist attacks. It is such a hard day here where I work, there are so many who are personally affected. May Hashem send us the true reward of Moshiach Bimhayra Biyamaynu On a lighter note, when I first made Aliya, I was very busy with twin infants, and was pregnant with the next one. Therefore, I was uninformed of the impending siren and it took me by surprise. I was cleaning my kitchen and then I heard what I thought was the sound of a shofar, my immediate thought was that a neighbor was playing with his fathers shofar, but when the sound extended beyond the amount of time that a normal person could sustain, (two minutes) I was sure Moshiach had announced his arrival. The elation lasted for a minute as I went out on my balcony to see if everyone else was also celebrating and found that I had just witnessed my first siren for Yom Hazikaron. Yehi Ratzon that the next 'shofar' we hear be the real thing!!
